BankingBook Privacy Policy

Last Updated: Jun 26, 2026

BankingBook ("we", "our", "the app") is a budgeting app for managing income, expenses, recurring bills, savings targets, and payment plans. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information used to provide the app.

Information We Collect

BankingBook may collect the following information:

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, authentication identifier, account creation date, and basic account metadata when you sign in with Google or Apple
  • Profile preferences, such as your default savings percentage, auto-sweep setting, and selected profile avatar
  • Budget data you create or save, including categories, expenses, recurring income and expense items, monthly savings settings, payment plans, plan items, plan payments, merchant rules, and notifications/read state
  • Imported transaction records that you choose to save after importing or reviewing files such as CSV or OFX exports

BankingBook does not collect bank login credentials and does not connect to bank-linking APIs or external financial account APIs.

How We Use Information

We use information only to provide and improve BankingBook functionality:

  • Authenticate your account and keep you signed in across the web and mobile apps
  • Save and sync your budgeting information between your devices
  • Calculate budgets, savings targets, recurring items, payment plans, and monthly summaries
  • Support imports that you initiate and store the resulting transaction records you choose to keep
  • Provide account support, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and maintain app security

Third-Party Services

BankingBook uses the following third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase (authentication and database storage)
  • Sign in with Apple
  • Google Sign-In

These providers process information as needed to authenticate users and store app data. Their services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

BankingBook does not use advertising networks, analytics providers, AI services, payment processors, or third-party financial data APIs in the current app.

Imported Financial Records

BankingBook may help you import transaction information from files you provide, such as CSV or OFX exports from your financial institution. The app uses those files only to help you review, categorize, and save transaction records.

BankingBook does not connect directly to your bank account, does not request your online banking password, and does not retrieve account data from banks or financial APIs.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers used to operate BankingBook, such as Supabase, Apple Sign In, and Google Sign-In, and only as necessary to provide authentication, storage, synchronization, support, and security.

Data Storage and Security

BankingBook stores user-authenticated budget data in Supabase. We use reasonable safeguards, including authentication and database access controls, to protect your information and keep each user's app data separated. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children’s Privacy

BankingBook is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Your Choices

  • You can edit or delete budget items, categories, payment plans, and other app content where the app provides those controls.
  • You can stop using BankingBook at any time.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated app data by contacting us at the email below.

We may need to retain limited information where required for security, legal compliance, or legitimate operational purposes.
